I went there and I could hear Jesus whispering through the walls. When I got to the altar I could feel electricity flying about in the air. I tried to hide so I could spend the night in there with Jesus but I needed the toilet so I had to leave.

This place is so pretty. The architecture is amazing. There is so much to learn and see. The cathedral itself is so beautiful. Donations are welcome, but no tickets are needed. They had a little game going on for kids, and they got a sticker at the end of it. That was very thoughtful. It's a must-see. We also visited the cafe just outside, it was good.

My first thing to do in Carlisle is visit stunning Cathedral. Absolutely amazing cathedral next to main shopping area right in middle of city. From the minute you enter the ground, it stunned you by its beauty. More you look the more you get surprised. It has the largest full flowing stained glass window in the UK. The cathedral is free however if you desire to give a donation of any amount. We been given a map for easy navigation. Downstairs is a small museum where you can find some historical pieces. The cathedral is definitely worth a visit and where you can find a lot of interesting points to spend hours and hours. If you visit, make sure you use the mirror below the ceiling for an awesome look of ceiling which is worth. Overall a very well preserved, peaceful, beautiful, astounding place and don’t forget to read its history which blow your mind too.

A beautiful building with friendly and informative staff. The architecture has something for everyone - A gothic 14th century east Nave with a large east window, containing both 14th century and Victorian stained glass, a Romanesque west Nave with a chapel dedicated to those killed in both world wars (with Victorian windows), a beautiful 19th century Willis Organ with just under 4000 pipes and much much more. I would DEFINETLY recommend a visit to this beautiful cathedral. A must see in Carlisle.

What a surprise. Welcomed on entry by a cheerful volunteer and handed a very useful information sheet. Although living in the area for the past 5 years this was my first visit. The choir ceiling is fabulous

Disappointed that, despite advertising a dog-friendly policy on their website, we were turned away because they “don’t normally admit dogs that big”. They’re lurchers - like hairy greyhounds and just a little bigger than the average Labrador. And better behaved than most children. I hope the access policy to heaven is a little more inclusive and friendly.
